The northeast coast of Mallorca has a selection of excellent and different types of beaches to try. The closest is the long Blue Flag bay of Puerto Pollensa 15 minutes away by car, which runs parallel to the famous Paseo de los Pinos. It is a sandy beach with a sheltered bay, ideal for paddling and swimming or trying out the water sports on offer. When you want a break from the sun, there are plenty of fun bars. If you prefer a smaller, more intimate beach cove, Cala San Vicente, a short drive to the north, has 3 to choose from. In the opposite direction, about a 20-minute drive from Pollensa is Alcudia, which has a 5km long sandy beach.

Puerto Pollensa, is an elegant family resort with a marina and lots to keep the whole family busy, including a magnificent crescent-shaped bay, water sports and beach bars for those all-important sunsets.
If you're feeling energetic, you can choose to venture up the 365 steps from Pollensa Old Town Square to the Calvari Church and admire the fantastic countryside views.
Cap de Formentor is known for being a most dramatic stretch of Mallorca's coast, with razor-edge cliffs and wind-buckled limestone peaks jutting out to sea. It is about 30 minutes by car from Pollensa, there is a viewpoint halfway along the road. If you feel very fit and active, you can do it on foot. During the summer months, there are boat trips from Puerto de Pollensa around the headland to Formentor beach, which is a picturesque spot with beach cafes.
Mallorca has many natural wonders and you can go bird watching in the S'Albufera Natural Park or go hiking in the Sierra de Tramuntana, there are also many wineries to try some of the best wines the island has to offer.

The Plaza de Pollensa and its narrow cobbled streets have plenty of elegant and traditional restaurants where you can choose between a light lunch of tapas, paella or an international menu. Near Puerto de Pollensa there are many seafront restaurants, Alcudia is about 15 minutes away by car and has a lot to offer with restaurants around the Port and tapas bars in the historic part of the city.

The neighboring town of Alcudia has a good water park, Hidropark, as well as a Karting track and horse riding facilities. There are also boat excursions, including the glass bottom boat, available from the Puerto Pollensa marina and Puerto de Alcudia.

There is an excellent market in the old town of Pollensa every Sunday where you can buy locally grown produce to cook in your Villa. The town also has several quaint gift shops and mini markets. If you go to Puerto Pollensa we recommend visiting on a Wednesday when the weekly market is held in the main square. You can buy everything you need for a beach picnic. There are supermarkets on the outskirts of town if you need something extra for your Pollensa villa.
